Head of Sales

 

We are looking for a Sales executive to help launch our company and serve as part of our executive team.  The candidate will be responsible for creating and executing a sales strategy and, eventually, building and managing a sales team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and deep relationships in data services and will be comfortable working in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

Executive Management

You will be a key member of the executive team and responsible for:

  • Helping to create the go-to-market plan

  • Preparing forecasts and KPI reporting for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning

Sales Leadership

You will be our first salesperson and, eventually, the leader of a large team. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing sales strategy, processes/policies and KPIs

  • Developing sales leads and managing prospects through the sales pipeline

  • Preparing sales forecasts

  • Creating and managing successful relationships with alliance and channel partners

  • Partnering with Marketing on branding, lead generation strategies, and sales content

  • Working with Engineering to streamline customer onboarding and account management

  • Attending industry events and conferences and acting as an SME and company spokesperson to generate new business leads

  • Building and leading a team

Qualifications

  • Experience selling data services

  • Significant experience in a new-revenue role and a strong track record of closing deals with SMBs and mid-market companies

  • Strong background in funnel optimization, sales operations, and sales process

  • Knowledge of major software solutions for pipeline management, forecasting and reporting

  • Ability to work without supervision. Complete latitude for decision making

  • Strong prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating skills; consultative sales approach

  • Experience in a hands-on, rapidly changing, high-growth start-up environments

  • High EQ, sales IQ, and business acumen

  • Proven track record of senior client relationships that can help facilitate strategic partnerships

  • Knowledge of the software and services being used for Data Wrangling

  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape

  • Desire to get (more) technical
